CMP Sponsorship and CEUs from RID

Rhode Island RID is an affiliate chapter of the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.

RI RID is now an approved sponsor of RID CEUs for the enhanced quality and quantity of sign language interpreters available to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities.

The following information should be useful to interested persons:

• RI RID is approved to sponsor Continuing Education Activities, Academic Course Work, and PINRAs (RI RID is not presently approved to sponsor Independent Studies).
• Completed forms must be returned to the CEU Administrator according to the timelines specified (*CE Activity form and Instructor form must be returned to the Sponsor at least 45 days before the activity*).
• Completed Activity Report Forms and Evaluation Forms must be returned to the CEU Administrator within 30 days upon completion of the activity. Activity Report forms will be supplied. Evaluation form will be supplied to the onsite personnel to be copied and distributed at the conclusion of the activity.
• Certificate of Attendance will be supplied to the onsite personnel. Certificate to be copied, completed and distributed by the onsite personnel.

Please review these guidelines if you wish RI RID to sponsor CEUs for your activity. There are timelines that must be followed to make this possible. There are required forms to be filled out correctly and returned to the CEU Administrator. The primary CEU Administrator for RI RID is Jessica Haas and she is available to answer questions about the process and assist with the forms. The CEU Administrator may be contacted at Jessica Haas. Please indicate in the subject line of the email that it is CEU related.

For Continuing Education Activity, please download and complete CE Activity form (return to Sponsor at least 45 days before the activity).

For Presenter/Instructor, please download and complete Instructor form (return to Sponsor at least 45 days before the activity).

For Academic Course Work, please download and complete Academic Course Work form (must be from an accredited college/university by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Requires submission of a course description prior to the activity AND a copy of the transcript upon completion of the course. Activity must be completed within participant's current CMP cycle).

For Participant Initiated Non-RID Activity(PINRA), please download and complete PINRA form (requires pre-approval of the Sponsor prior to activity. AND pre-approved proof of attendance must be returned to Sponsor within 30 days upon completion of activity).

*A $10 fee payable to RI RID will be assessed for processing CEUs*
